The Praventio Team

Dr. Angerbauer’s path to medicine began with his own unresolved health challenges. In his early 20s, despite doing “everything right,” he experienced persistent gastrointestinal symptoms that conventional care could not clearly explain. Seeking answers, he explored integrative and alternative approaches and began to question what was truly evidence-based. That experience led him to pursue medicine with the goal of bridging rigorous science and a more holistic, individualized approach to health.

Daniel Angerbauer MD

That perspective now shapes his clinical work. His clinical interests focus on preventive medicine, longevity, and brain health across the lifespan. He emphasizes early risk identification and long-term health optimization, while remaining attentive to patients whose concerns don’t always fit neatly into conventional frameworks—often individuals much like he once was. He integrates conventional, lifestyle, preventive, and functional medicine to support durable health, function, and quality of life.

Outside of clinical work, he values time with family and friends, travel, and being in nature. From meditation retreats and high-altitude trekking to sand volleyball and snowboarding, he brings that same balanced, curious, and long-term perspective to patient care.

Qualifications

I come from a diverse personal and professional background, shaped by my upbringing in Brazil, my clinical education at Loma Linda University in California, years of living in Florida, and my current life in Utah.

Clinically, I have had the privilege of working in both highly structured and collaborative settings. I began my career in a partial hospitalization program, where I worked with patients facing complex medical and psychological challenges. Many had experienced treatment failures, and our work often focused on the intersection of physical and emotional pain. That experience deeply shaped my interest in integrative, trauma-informed care for individuals living with chronic illness and medically complex conditions.

In addition to this, I’ve worked in a collaborative private practice, where I provided therapy to individuals and families navigating relational distress, life transitions, and mental health challenges. I also facilitated group therapy, which strengthened my ability to hold space for shared narratives, mutual support, and collective healing. Across all of these settings, I’ve maintained a flexible, client-centered approach rooted in authenticity and deep respect for each person’s story.

Daniel's interest in medicine and healing stemmed from a desire to get to the root cause of his own health problems. At the age of 22, he was diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and found that conventional medicine was unable to provide answers or helpful treatments.

This alarmed Daniel and pushed him to look for healing outside of the conventional medical system. He found the world of alternative medicine to be hard to navigate and difficult to tell fact from fiction. However, after over a decade of searching and learning, he finally found true healing from a combination of lifestyle, integrative and functional medicine.

These experiences motivated Daniel to be an open-minded physician who is also grounded in science and research. Today, Daniel combines the best of various modalities into a personalized evidence-based approach that focuses on getting to the root cause of disease, creating vibrant health and maximizing longevity.
